The Matildas challenge Australia to #GetOnside by singing iconic song during France campaign

In a video released by Football Federation Australia, the Matildas are asking Australians to #GetOnside for the nation’s 2023 Bid by singing Waltzing Matilda during their upcoming FIFA Women’s World CupTM games in France this month.



With millions of fans watching from around the globe, the Matildas want to show the world that they are staking their claim to win the Bid, and bring the prestigious tournament to Australia in 2023.

Starting with the Matildas' first match against Italy this Sunday 9th June, fans are asked to stand up and sing Waltzing Matilda loud and proud at the 20min 23 sec mark of each game.

From inside the stadium, to pubs and lounge rooms across Australia, the players are asking all fans to sing their support and share to social media with the hashtag #GetOnside.
